This whole problem could be avoided if the steam mirrors actually had somewhat up to date files available for download. I'm just annoyed that downloading the game off of steam is a total waste of time. Please don't think I'm being hostile towards anyone, I'm far from being hostile towards anyone. I don't see how you could reasonably play an online game with kbps, you must have really bad ping and latency issues. The problem isn't the steam mirrors, it's the fact that it just downloads the base game, not all the updates. So it looks like you're downloading the game all over again, when really it's all updates. I said it could hamper things, I didn't say it would as a fact. Since such a disconnect from your provider gives you a new routing through the world wide web, i assumed it to work.

And guess what, … it worked. Not only was the problem gone, ping and latency super fine, it stayed that way at least weeks before i encountered the problem again. So, yes it is a software problem. But not only on the client side, but the server side aswell, namely in how the server code treats the client connections. In most cases restarting the game or PC works, but if it doesnt, then only unplugging the router works. Hope it helps some of you getting back into a playable state.
