Windows desktop search is not available outlook 2010 terminal server

I was starting Outlook right away once the computer booted up, which happened to be before the Windows Search service had started. So my Outlook would always say "Windows Desktop Search is not available" the whole time it was open, but closing and restarting Outlook would solve the problem for that session.

To fix, I set the service startup type to Automatic. And got in the habit of waiting till the computer was fully booted up before firing up applications. In reply to A. Franklin's post on August 23, Same thing here Windows 7 -- closing and reopening outlook worked for me for that session, and changing search to automatic start solved it overall.

No follow up to the poblem. Useless response. I just ran in to this issue myself. Closed Outlook and reopened and I'm good to go now. I might work for other brands as well. Joe Brockhaus.
